For a number of reasons, a mistake was repeatedly posted on our social media, over the last couple of days.

We’ve been in touch with California-rooted artist Jimbo Phillips, about potential projects on the rise. Jimbo also happens to be Jim Phillips’ son - Jim being one of the most renowned illustrators of the 1970’s and 80’s, most notorious for having developed a unique style way beyond the classic surf art landmarks as to better animate a whole imaginary bestiary of drooling monsters, or fireball-adorning skeletons, which then proceeded to grow over the span of multiple generations. So, we got the father and the son mixed up. Mea culpa.

So, Jimbo followed in his dad’s footprints as soon as a very early age, only to take him up as far as managing this little fantasy universe he had spent a lifetime crafting, updating some of the designs, occasionally adding or removing detail but most importantly, he ensured the artwork would always come to financial fruition by handling new item designs as well as collaborations and various sponsorships. He keeps it running, and chances are Colby eventually will, too.
